My friend Colleen Jepsen.
Thank you Colleen for helping me edit most of my pages and information. I know that I keep updating them faster than you can edit them but you have been a great help. I really appreciate all of your suggestions, feedback, and help. Thank you.
To Matt Barendt,
Matt lives in North Dakota and if you have read all of the web site you will know that Matt is the person who drew the logo for me. It is perfect for what I had in mind. Not only did he create the perfect logo but his drawing also provided me with the design for the trophy that we will be giving to the winners. Thank you Matt for your contribution which at that time may have seemed small, but it was so necessary to move to the next phase of my planning.
Thank you again.
To Stan Gates,
To an amazing artist who selflessly took the time to create the Wet Dog statue for me. Stan I still can not get over how closely your statue resembles Matt Barendt's logo. For those who don't know, I went to Stan and showed him the drawing from Matt and asked Stan if he could make me a dog that looked like that. You can see the result and I will be forever in debited to you Stan for your valuable talent. I promise not to let all of your work be for not. This race is going to and will happen. Thank you so much Stan!
To Tom Krueger,
Tom is an incredible person, Tom was my instructor when I took my EMT course. I don't think I have ever met a person who is more inspirational or positive in nature than Tom Krugger. During the EMT class I had the opportunity to share the idea of this race with him and he picked right up on it. He had so many good ideas many of which I am putting to action. Over the years all the planning can be quite draining on a persons energy and when I would get to point where I might feel like it was too much, I would give Tom a call and chat with him. Just listening to him was very refreshing and it would help me stay focused. Tom is one person who has really kept me on track with this event. Thank you Tom, I appreciate all of your suggestions and inspiration.
Tom is an amazing bear guide here in Alaska. He and his sons operate a bear guiding business called Alaskan Trackers Inc. If you plan on coming to Alaska to go bear hunting, you cant go wrong with Tom and his boys. Give them call. To Chris Manthos
Chris is the Executive Director of the American Watercraft Association.
Chris recently came to Alaska and sponsored a freedom ride with the Personal Watercraft Club of Alaska and my tour company Star Bound Alaskan Adventures. Star Bound supplied Chris and his crew with dry suits for the ride and Alaska Toy Rental supplied them with watercraft.
While Chris was here I shared with him my plans for this race. Chris told me that he was impressed with my "ambitious endeavor" and when I was ready to kick it off he would do what he could to help spread the word.
Chris is great guy and no one stands up for your right to ride watercrafts more than him and his team at the American Watercraft Association. I would strongly encourage that everyone even those who do not own watercrafts to join the AWA and support them in defending your rights to access waters and areas that are under attack from different groups or people.
Lets all unite together to help stop those groups and people that want to take your access away. It does not matter if its watercrafts, 4 wheelers, or some other kind of "big boys toys", someone out there don't like them as much as you and they would love to see you banned from areas.
One thing is for certain. If these groups get one thing like watercrafts banned from somewhere, your toy of choice could be next and you will want someone to help you out. So let us get together on this common goal and save our access and freedom ride and enjoy our toys.
Chris and his crew are there fighting for you and I. Please join the AWA and help him preserve our freedom to ride.
You can find thier web site at http://awahq.org or http://www.ridepwc.com/
Chris, your work does not go unnoticed and I know I speak for the entire watercraft world when I say "Thank you for all of your hard work that you and your crew do and please keep up the good job."
