The big question to ask after the "What is it?" is "When is it?" "When" is up to each and every one of you who are reading this. It all depends on how long it takes to get enough interest to make it worth putting on. Our wish would be to hold it around the first part of May in 2010 or 2011. This will give us plenty of time to be able finish the rest of the research and planning that we have to complete and also it will give you the racers enough time to prepare for and or save the money necessary to enter the race.
See the estimated Entry fee for a rough estimate and what it includes so far. We are working to get he cost down lower than our rough estimates so do not be discouraged.
How much interest do we have to have? We need to have a minimum of 500 (2) person teams to make this race possible. Does that mean that we will announce a starting date as soon as 1000 people say they are interested in the event? No. It means that as soon as we have a number that we are comfortable with showing interest then we will move on to the next step of setting a start date. If you are a racer you can help get this event started quicker by informing the rest of your racing buddies about this event. Do not wait to see who will go first, take the lead and fill out our survey and let's get the ball rolling.
It is very important to us to have our survey filled out even if you have no interest in racing. The survey is for everyone including racers and NON racers. It is to help us determine how much of a market there is not only in participants but in spectators as well.
